We have a small gathering of family and friends on the land to toast and celebrate our new home site. Along comes a bear.....what more of a sign did we need to tell us....we have come home! I cried. It is now my favorite wildlife moment. The bear foraged around the river for 20 minutes and everyone got good looks and photos of him.

It's Ours! 3/23/10

I take one last drive past the land before heading to the closing, and see more then a dozen Turkeys. I take it as a good sign that this place is meant to be ours. Closing takes place in the town of Rosendale. So happy can't even describe the feeling. This is what we have always wanted. How very blessed we are. We eat a late lunch in New Paltz, to celebrate and then head home with a cold bottle of champagne, pick up our two sons who are still living at home, my dog Petey and head over to our future home site to celebrate. I have to pinch myself to believe that it is real.

and then we wait, but I visit most days....goose bumps every time I set foot on this amazing piece of property. I never feel any sort of regret or nervousness. I love this land.
